Elaine Lucille Thompson, 64 of Lewisville, Texas, formerly Roland, died Monday April 22nd, 2013 from complications of a long term illness. She passed away peacefully with her two daughters by her side.

Elaine was born on May 18th, 1948 to Theodore Thompson and Mildred (Larson) Thompson of Story City. She grew up just outside of Roland on their family farm and then remained a Roland resident until she moved down to Texas to be with her daughters in 2003

Through the years, Elaine was actively involved in her community and church. She was raised attending Grace United Methodist Church in Story City, but later on joined the Evangelical Free Church of Ames, where she helped make the transition of the Evangelical Free Church in Story City. She was an avid Christian being active in her bible studies and church events.

Elaine had two beautiful daughters, which were the light of her very existence and who took care of her until the very end as a reflection of what a beautiful, amazing mother she had been. Elaine was very active in her church, with the Republican Party & of course her daughters.

After becoming ill, Elaine’s daughters moved her down to Texas to care for her in 2003 and continued their care of her until she passed away on April 22nd, 2013.

Elaine is preceded in death by her father, Theodore Thompson; mother, Mildred (Larson) Thompson; and oldest sister, Theodora Thompson, all of Story City.
