We’re digging in this week! It’s the start of the 2013 Summer Reading Program at Bertha Bartlett Public Library. Our theme is "Dig Into Reading". Sign up at the Circulation Desk and collect your reading log. We have something for every age: for babies/toddlers, kids ages 2 to 12, tweens/teens and adults.

Programming kicks off on June 3 with Wee Read at 4:30 pm. Preschool Storytime will meet on Tuesday and Thursday this summer at 10:30 am. KOOL, for kids kindergarten through 4th grade, will meet on Tuesdays at 1 pm. Tween Team is on Wednesdays at 10:30, followed by the teen group on Wednesdays at 1:30. Watch for details about special programs for KOOL and Preschool Storytime.

For adults, our monthly book club continues to meet throughout the summer on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 2 pm. Knitters and stitchers are invited to join us weekly for a social hour in the Kinne Wing. This group meets every Friday at 10 am. Bring whichever project you are working on and enjoy the company of fellow crafters! The Memory Makers Storytelling Guild meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 5 pm. Learn how to turn all your wonderful family stories into an oral history tradition.

Make plans now to stop into the library during Scandinavian Days for our annual Book Sale! Proceeds from the book sale go to the Bertha Bartlett Public Library Foundation, which helps to fund special programs, summer reading speakers and other singular projects at the library. The sale will be open on Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sunday from 1 to 5 pm. We have a lot of books to share with you this year! Bertha Bartlett Public Library is pleased to host the Benson Brothers again during Scandinavian Days. The brothers, local published authors, will be speaking at 1:30 pm.
