RIVER BEND WOMEN’S LEAGUE
An informational meeting for women interested in playing in Women’s League will be held Tuesday, May 21, at 7:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse. League format is a two lady best shot and will be played on Monday evenings in June and July. League dues will be $15 and must be paid prior to the first night of league play. SONS OF NORWAY ANNUAL TORSK MEMBERSHIP DINNER
Sons of Norway Kong Sverre Lodge will host its Annual Torsk Membership Dinner Monday, May 13, at the Community Center, 503 Elm Ave., in Story City. The 6:30 p.m. dinner, catered by Chef Chris Hansen, will be preceded by a social time at 6:00 p.m. where guests can sample Norwegian delights such as gjetost, flatbrød, herring and more. The program "The Trouble with Trolls" will be given by Jan Smith, author and storyteller from Minnesota. The dinner is open to all interested in learning more about Norwegian heritage and culture. The cost of the meal is $5 for members and $15 for guests, free if you join that evening. CITY OF STORY CITY ACCEPTING PROPOSALS
The City of Story City is accepting proposals from individuals or parties interested in operating the concesion stand at the Story City Memorial Swimming Pool for the 2013 season. Anyone interested is encouraged to submit a proposal to the City of Story City at City Hall by Friday, May 17. For questions, contact John Moran, Parks and Recreation Superintendent at 733-4444.

Performance dates are June 5-8 at 7:00 p.m. and a Sunday, June 9 matinee at 1:30 p.m. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door prior to each performance.
ROLAND LEGION HOSTS TENDERLOIN DINNER
The Roland American Legion will host a breaded pork tenderloin dinner on Friday, May 10 from 5 - 7 p.m. Cost is $7 per person and includes tenderloin sandwich, baked beans, applesauce, potato chips.
