Story City Pack 101 held its annual Cub Scout recruitment night on August 27, 2013 at the Roland-Story Elementary School.

While parents learned more about the Cub Scouting program, the Story City Boy Scout Troop 101 played games with the new recruits. In all, 22 new Cub Scouts signed up to join Pack 101. With the addition of the new Cub Scouts, Pack 101 now consists of 66 boys.

The new members get to begin participating in activities immediately. On September 7, Pack 101 enjoyed an overnight campout where the Cub Scouts were able to tent camp and enjoy other activities with their fellow scouts and family members. We had about 45 Cub Scouts and about 50 parents there to enjoy the campout.

Pack 101 also wants those who enjoy popcorn to know that the cub scouts will be out selling popcorn September 27th – October 27th. Watch for the boys around both Story City and Roland. This is our annual fund raiser for the pack. Money that is raised through popcorn sales help to fund the boys’ scouting experience, including the many awards they earn as they complete achievements.

Story City Pack 101 is open to boys in 1st through 5th grades. Anyone interested in joining or who has any questions about Pack 101 can contact Cub Master Jay Brandner via email at jnjbrandner@gmail.com or call at 515-290-1856.
