Pastor Bill Reisseter will be presenting a Program of Thanksgiving with Harp and Voice on Wednesday, November 20th, 7:30pm, at Trinity Lutheran in Ellsworth. Gathering music will begin at 7:15, and a time of fellowship will follow. A free-will offering will be taken.
Pastor Bill grew up in Ellsworth, the son of Carrol and Thora Reisseter. Having graduated from Wartburg College and Concordia Theological Seminary, he was ordained in 1981, and has been serving the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, ever since. He is currently serving as a pastor in Jacksonville, Florida. The program coincides with Bill’s visit to see his mother, Thora, whose 90th birthday will be November 17th, in Northwood.
Bill met his wife, Susan, at the first church he served following ordination. She had recently purchased a pedal harp, but never got around to learning to play it. In 1994, as a Christmas gift, he purchased harp lessons for her. When it became clear that her schedule wouldn’t allow her to make use of the gift, Bill took advantage of the opportunity and learned the harp, himself. Since honing his craft, he has played harp for weddings and other special occasions throughout Florida and neighboring states.
