Forty-five senior citizens enjoyed a delicious chicken dinner catered by Harlan’s Deli. Coordinator was Carolyn Mabee. Servers were Priscilla Johnson, Joanne Shelton and Velda Frette, all members of Grace United Methodist Church. Ann Lovig was M.C. Helen Tjernagel celebrated her birthday and Happy Birthday was sung to her.

The program was presented by Dean Larson. He introduced Whitney Franz, wife of Pastor David Franz of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural Jewell. She accompanied everyone on the piano as we all sang Christmas carols. Dean Larson read the Christmas Story. It was a very enjoyable program.

Dean introduced Caleb Michel and his father Dennis Michel. Caleb helps out at the center every Wednesday by getting the tables set. He has been doing it for 11 years. Dean presented him with a card and gift of money from all of the senior citizens.

Next Wednesday’s menu will be Sloppy Joes, chips and Jello. The following Wednesday, Dec. 25, there will be no luncheon. And January 1 there will be no luncheon as well.

Happy Holidays!
