The Roland American Legion Women’s Auxiliary met on Monday April 1st, 2013. Twelve members were present and dinner was served by Pat and Rhoda Nerem at 7 p.m. President Diane Beck began the meeting at 7:10 p.m., Chaplain Diane Webb said prayer.
Minutes from the March meeting were read by Jilian Heatwole. One correction was made by Carol Summers. The Story County meeting was on March 21st in Cambridge, Iowa not the Story City meeting.
Correspondence: A thank you card from the Roland American Legion was read for our gift of money for the up keep of the memorial.
Jodi Muller the Director of Development and PR of North Star Community Services sent a thank you letter for our donation of 800 greeting cards, both new and recycled.
Treasurers Report – Marla Chance: Marla reported on the checking, welfare and juniors accounts.
We received Kiwanis money for the Easter Hunt. We still owe the Juniors account. $50 check written to Tray Favors for Veterans.
Diane Beck has bills from Easter Hunt prizes.
Old Business: 800 card fronts were sent.
The Easter Egg Hunt was successful.
Kim Goodmanson reported on the Fish Fry, 271 people were served. She has receipts and money for the treasurer for deposit. We did make a $848.23 profit.
New Business: Poppies sign up for streets and take poppies home tonight.
Phyllis Childers reported on the County meeting in Cambridge. Linda Henderson also attended. They reported on our membership and lit a candle in honor of Laurina Hovde.
September is the fall county meeting and it will be in Maxwell. Linda Beam will be 6th District President. County officers are: President Pam Messer, Vice President Mary Jo McLaughlin and Secretary-Treasurer Linda Henderson.

Diane Beck reminded us that May is nomination month and Senior graduating scholarship.
Marla Chance reported on her mother in Zearing.
