Members of the R-S FFA chapter recently competed in six different Leadership and Speaking contests as part of the 2014 North Central FFA District contest and convention.

The contests were held at the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura High School in Garner and were attended by FFA members from 47 different school districts. Roland-Story students who competed were: Chase Conis in Agricultural Sales, Riley Wilgenbusch in Radio Broadcasting, Nicholas Morgan in Job Interview, Brayden Lester in Chapter Website, Tavender Jones, Sydney Berends and Thomas Wilgenbusch in the Chapter Program, Brayden Lester in Greenhand Quiz and Thomas Wilgenbusch, Sydney Berends, Chase Conis and Tavender Jones in Farm Business Management contest. Jacob Sterle and Brayden Lester served as official Chapter Delegates. The top two finishers advanced to the State competition which will be held in Ames on April 28 and 29th.

Riley Wilgenbusch finished with a ‘Gold’ rating and advances to the State Contest in Ames the end of April. The Chapter Program, Job Interview and Ag Sales all finished with a ‘silver’ rating. Brayden Lester finished 1st in the Greenhand Quiz contest. Thomas Wilgenbusch finished 1st in the Farm Business Management contest.
