Come join the Senior Citizens for a fun afternoon with friends, good food and games every Wednesday. A program will be held at 11 a.m. and lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. The cost is only $4 per person and it is held at the Story City Community Center.
Forty-eight seniors enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Harlan’s Deli on Wednesday, August 28. The coordinator was Bev Christensen. Servers were Olive Sampson and Phyllis Olson.
John Abrams celebrated his birthday by treating everyone with ice cream goodies. "Happy Birthday" was sung to him.
A special program was presented by Monica Emerson from the Flower Shop and Gifts on Broad Street. She prepared an arrangment of beautiful flowers and told a little about each flower. They are shipped from Central America, Holland, Columbia and many other countries. She has a wholesaler out of Des Moines and Miami, Florida. Her beautiful flowers were carnations, daisies, Hawaiian (tropical) flowers, to name a few. It was a very interesting and informative program.
The menu for Wednesday, Sept. 4 will be chicken salad sandwich, Jello and chips. The menu for Wednesday, Sept. 11 will be ham and scalloped potatoes, vegetables and a salad. Call Ruby Olson at 733-9278 for reservations or cancellations.
