Story City Easter egg hunt
Easter is finally here and so is the annual GCC Easter egg hunt, which will be held Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at South Park. The Easter Bunny will be here to leave many bright colored eggs to find. There will also be games to play after the egg hunt.
Roland Easter egg hunt
The Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the Roland Legion Auxiliary, will be held at Erickson Park on Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. It will be held rain or shine. Children ages birth through fourth-grade are invited to participate.
The Roland American Legion Auxiliary is holding a fish fry on Friday, April 14, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Roland Legion Hall. The menu will include fish, chicken strips, baked potato, coleslaw, rolls, applesauce and drink. A free-will donation will be accepted. The public is welcome to attend.
A bake sale will be held at the Roland Public Library on Saturday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to noon. Baked items and cash donations are welcome and may be dropped off at the library Friday, April 14, from 5-7 p.m. or Saturday by 9 a.m. The bake sale is sponsored by Roland Friends ‘N Service. Proceeds will go to the library programs through the Roland Public Library Foundation.
Story City American Legion is holding its Steak Night on Saturday, April 15, 5:30-7 p.m. The meal will include a 10-ounce ribeye steak, green bean casserole, coleslaw and Texas toast. A free-will donation will be accepted; proceeds will fund Legion functions and programs. The public is welcome to attend.
A dance will be held at the Story City Senior Center on Thursday, April 20, from 7-10 p.m. Kenny Frette’s Country Classics Band will be playing.
On Friday, April 14, at 1 p.m., at the Story City Community Center people age 55 and over are invited to play bridge club and/or the card game “Hand and Foot.” No reservations or charge required, but a snack to share is appreciated.
On Wednesday, April 19, a Fellowship Luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. at the Story City Community Center. The cost is $4 per person age 55 and over. Menus can be picked up at the community center. Reservations can be made by calling Ruby Olson at 515-733-9278.
