The Emergency Residence Project received a $6,000 community grant from the Story County Community Foundation. The shelter quickly used the funds to provide rental and utility assistance to those with housing needs.

To receive assistance from the ERP, individuals must submit an application which is reviewed for a funding decision.

A recent request involved a couple who lost their jobs but could sustain their home due to having money in savings. Unfortunately, the savings were running out just as they were starting a new job. With the help of the ERP, the couple was able to stay in their home and pay their bills, with no further assistance needed.

SCCF awards community grants of up to $6,000 each year to support the needs of the Story County community. For more information on community grants, visit the SCCF webpage at www.storycountyfoundation.org or call the SCCF office at 515-232-9200.
