Andrew Webb, a New Club Opener for the Nebraska-Iowa District of Kiwanis International and a member of the Roland Kiwanis club, announced recently that the Story City Kiwanis club is in the process of being reorganized.
Kiwanians have been busy canvassing businesses in the community to sign up interested members.
Webb said, “Kiwanis has sponsored a Key Club at the Roland Story High School for several years with about 30 members. It’s time for Story City to again team up with the Roland Kiwanis club here — one that can mentor the Key Club members as well as make a difference in the community.”
An informational meeting is planned for Wednesday, April 26, 11:45 a.m., in the back room of Dinners by Dawn. The special speaker will be Matt Sporleder, the new chief of police for Story City.
“All are invited to come and meet the new chief and learn how you can become a part of serving our community through Kiwanis,” Webb said. “Our Kiwanis motto is ‘Serving the Children of the World,’ and we will be doing so right here in Story City. Join us!”
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
