Scholarship for student teaching


The College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University has awarded scholarships to students to support their student teaching experiences during spring 2017. Claire Sherman of Story City, a senior studying elementary education, was among those who received the scholarship.


Students who are selected to receive this scholarship may use it to offset the cost of living while they gain relevant experience to advance their career. The scholarship is funded through an anonymous gift made to the College of Human Sciences as part of the endowed deanship held by Laura Dunn Jolly, dean and Dean’s Chair.


Scholarship for unpaid internships


The College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University has awarded 10 students scholarships to support their internship experiences during spring 2017. Danielle Retallick, a senior in kinesiology and health, from Story City, was among those receiving the scholarship.


The scholarship may be used to offset the cost of living while students gain professional experience outside the classroom to advance their careers. This scholarship is funded through an anonymous gift made to the College of Human Sciences as part of the endowed deanship held by Laura Dunn Jolly, dean and Dean’s Chair. Jolly allocated a portion of those funds for the scholarships to encourage students to seek career-building experience in the workplace before graduation.


Saint Mary’s Dean’s List


Ena Moats, daughter of Steven and Julie Moats of Roland, was named to the first semester 2016-17 Dean’s List at Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minn. The list includes 335 undergraduate students who earned a grade point average of 3.60 or better on a 4.0 scale.
