The Story City Historical Society had a great turn out for its Spring Dinner event held on April 27. A crowd of around 60 people enjoyed the delicious meal prepared by Historical Society volunteers. This included a variety of WWI-era foods, corn willy hash, army goulash and Salvation Army donuts.
The Historical Society’s new WWI exhibit was unveiled and a presentation on Story City’s involvement in the war was given by museum director Kate Feil.
“It was wonderful to have Kay Munsen and Don and Pat Brattebo at the event. Kay and Don both donated army uniforms for the exhibit which belonged to their fathers,” Feil said. “We’d like to thank everyone who attended the event, and a special thanks to our volunteer cooks who made delicious WWI-era food.”
