CALS Ambassadors successfully complete Spring 2017

A group of College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) students successfully completed the semester representing the college as CALS Ambassadors. CALS Ambassadors is a highly selective group of students tasked with assisting in the recruitment of new undergraduate students to the college.

Members of the CALS Ambassadors include Tyler Hougland of Story City, majoring in agricultural business; Thomas Wilgenbusch of Story City, majoring in animal science; and Riley Wilgenbusch of Story City, majoring in agronomy.

Members of this group, whic is open to all students in the college, are required to log at least 20 hours of volunteering each semester and maintain attendance and participation requirements. Ambassadors serve actively on one of seven committees, each tasked with specific duties related to the purposes of recruitment and engagement within the college. Through each committee, members get experience with project management and leadership in addition to practicing teamwork and communication skills.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln degree

Mariah Elizabeth Keech of Story City was among more than 3,000 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises May 5-6. Keech earned a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences.
