The Roland Museum is having a cleaning day, and volunteers are needed to help with the work. Cleaning days will be Saturday, May 20, and Saturday, May 27, from 9-11 a.m. each day.
The senior dance will be held Thursday, May 18, from 7-10 p.m. at the Story City Senior Center, with Kenny Frette playing.
A style show by Affordables will be held at Bethany Life on Thursday, May 18, at 1 p.m. and again at the Story City Senior Center at 2:30 p.m.
On Friday, May 19, at 1 p.m., at the Story City Community Center people age 55 and over are invited to play bridge club and/or the card game “Hand and Foot.” No reservations or charge required, but a snack to share is appreciated.
On Wednesday, May 24, a Fellowship Luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. at the Story City Community Center. The cost is $4 per person age 55 and over. Menus can be picked up at the community center. Reservations can be made by calling Ruby Olson at 515-733-9278.
The comedy hit “Going in Style,” starring Academy Award winners Morgan Freeman, Alan Arkin and Michael Caine, will be shown this Friday, Saturday, Sunday, May 19, 20, 21, at the historic Story Theater in Story City. Showtimes are each evening at 7 p.m., with special Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4:30 p.m. Admission is only $4 and it's rated PG-13.
