Science program at RPL

The Roland Public Library welcomes the Grout Museum of Waterloo on Thursday, June 29, at 1 p.m. for a special program. Join us to see just how science makes our world a better place every day! All ages are invited to attend. Please note that this will be the only program that day. For more information, contact the library at 515-388-4086. This program was made possible by a grant through the United Way of Story County.

Blank canvases are on sale at the Greater Chamber Connection for $10 each in the second annual 2x2xWho? artistic fundraiser. Purchase a 2-by-2-foot canvas and paint, stencil or decorate them to fit the theme “Iowa Nice: What Inspires You About Iowa?” Return the completed artwork by Aug. 1 to have them added to the public art exhibit downtown. Art will be on display during the month of August and people will be able to vote for their favorites during the Progressive Dinner on Aug. 16.

Story City Farmers’ Market

The next Story City Farmers’ Market will be Thursday, July 6, from 4-7 p.m. located in South Park along the parking lot. Come out and check our local vendors to see what amazing items you can get from people you may even know! The market is growing, but the GCC is still looking for more vendors to participate and continue to “grow” the market with their locally homegrown, homemade items. Please call the GCC office at 515-733-4214 or email us at info@storycity if you would like to reserve a spot.

Stop by the GCC office or visit our website for your entry form to get involved in the first ever Story City Architectural Scavenger Hunt. Teams of four can register before July 3 for $20 — a $5 savings.
