Roland-Story agriculture student and FFA member, Max Halstead, has been busy this summer preparing for the 2017 Story County Fair. Max is the son of Cal and Molly Halstead, of Roland, and will be a senior this year at Roland-Story.
“Max is an excellent student and a natural born leader. He possesses much common sense and is a student that is looked up to in our Agriculture program,” said Brad Taylor, agriculture education instructor and FFA advisor.
Halstead has participated in many events and activities over his years in the program including: receiving his Iowa FFA degree, participating in the local second-grade program on “Food for America,” being a member of the “farm business management contest,” attending National and State FFA conventions, and competing in leadership contests at the State FFA convention. He is currently serving his FFA chapter as president.
Taylor said, “Max is an excellent representative of his chapter, school, community and family. He constantly demonstrates honesty, integrity, appropriate work ethic and dedication at all times. His actions speak highly of his character.”
