Congratulations to Reid Selby, former Roland-Story graduate, who recently received notice that he has been accepted in Honors at Oxford Program sponsored by the Honors College at the University of Oklahoma.
This is the most prestigious undergraduate degree attainable at the University of Oklahoma. The Honors at Oxford Program offers students the opportunity to participate in tutorials with Oxford professors and experience the intense Oxford style of teaching.
To be accepted into the Honors Program students are judged by submitting their transcript; list of pertinent university activities, awards and honors; a 500-word essay on the last book they read outside of class and why; and maintaining 3.5 GPA or above.
Reid is the son of Scott and Julie Selby, of Story City. He is the grandson of Al and Bev Andis, of Spencer, and Bill and Karen Selby, of Nevada.
On behalf of the Roland-Story Community School District and the Roland-Story community, we congratulate Reid on achieving such high academic honors.
