The United Way of Story County is offering a free course to help women learn to manage their finances. “Women Making it Work: You and Your Money” will be held Mondays from Sept. 18-Oct. 9, from 5:30-7 p.m. at Roland-Story Elementary School, 900 Hillcrest Drive., Story City.

During the series, participants will enjoy a free women’s night out focusing on personal money management. They will learn alongside other women who are there to provide support and encouragement.

Participants in the course will build confidence by learning how to identify their financial goals, create a personal spending plan, use a bank to meet their needs, find ways to save money, use credit wisely, reduce debt and rebuild credit.

Women in the course will also earn weekly gifts that will help jumpstart their spending plans.

Free childcare will be provided during the workshops. Free meals for participants and their attending children will be provided. And assistance is available to help with transportation costs.
