City elections will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

In Story City, Mayor Mike Jensen is unopposed in his bid for re-election. He has served as mayor since 2010.

Incumbents Dave Sporleder and Matt Triggs are challenged by Mary Kay Solberg for their at-large seats. Sporleder joined the council in 1998, and Triggs has served since 2014.

There is also an election to fill an at-large vacancy and incumbent Chris Crutchfield is running unopposed in that race. That vacancy was filled by council appointment in March after the retirement of Becky Watson.

In Roland, current city council member Andrew Webb is running unopposed for mayor, while current Mayor Jerry Balmer is running for a seat on the council.

Balmer, Linda Gauley, Riley Larson and Danny Weston have all filed paperwork to run for city council. They are competing for two open seats on the council.

Balmer and Webb have both served in their current positions since 2014.

Story City voters will go to the polls at the Story City Community Center, 503 Elm Ave. The polling place for Roland and Howard Township residents is the Roland Area Community Center, 208 N. Main. Both polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
