Does your family have the skills necessary to be successful winter survivalists? Story County Conservation has a family survival camp that will challenge you to work together to build shelters, light fires, snowshoe through the forest, create a survival kit and more. Participants must be at least 8 years old. Please bring your own lunch and wear proper winter attire. Fee of $20 per family group (up to four members; please call if you need special accommodations) with registration is required by 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8. The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McFarland Park.
