Classes in the elementary school are learning coding skills. Research has shown that students who code are learning critical-thinking skills as well as problem-solving skills. Other skills that coding and programming can have a positive impact on are: persistence, collaboration, complex communication, creativity and computational thinking. The students seem to enjoy the unplugged (no electronics) activities along with experiencing programming on the computer. The students shown doing unplugged activities, are from Mrs. Bauman’s fourth grade class, Mrs. Olson and Mrs. Hull’s second grade classes.
