Central Iowa RSVP is pleased to welcome Lori Williams on staff as its volunteer management for emergencies/transportation program coordinator for Story County.

Williams lives in Ames, is married and has two small boys, ages 4 and 2. She has been working for Catholic Charities for more than seven years and among the community outreach programs that she coordinated at CC was its disaster services program.

She provided technical assistance in disaster preparedness, response and recovery to churches in a 30-county region for the development of church disaster plans. Prior to that she was a disaster case advocate and disaster case advocate supervisor for Lutheran Services of Iowa. She is a member of the Story County Coalition for Disaster Recovery and a board member for the Iowa Disaster Human Resources Council.

Williams has a passion for disaster services programming and is also excited about assisting with the RSVP Volunteer Driver Transportation Program. She started with RSVP Feb. 16.

Teal Wilson has done an excellent job in this role for RSVP the past two years. “We will miss Teal very much but are very excited for her soon-to-be role as a new mom,” RSVP members said. “We wish her all the best.”
