Kevin Fode of Roland has received his Bachelor of Science degree in software development from Western Governors University. The university held its 64th commencement ceremony at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 10 to celebrate the graduation of about 15,000 graduates from across the country.


ISU College of Human Science’s Dean’s List


The Iowa State University College of Human Science’s Dean’s List honors students who have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of 2017. Students who made the list in the spring of 2017 include: Sarah Mesenbrink of Story City, majoring in early childhood education; Paige Petzenhauser of Roland, majoring in elementary education; Chelsey Tinken of Story City, majoring in child, adult and family studies; and Megan Van Brocklin of Story City, majoring in elementary education.


Drake’s Dean’s


Matthew Lepke of Story City has been named to the Dean’s List at Drake University. This academic honor is achieved by earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall 2017 semester at Drake.


ISU College of Human Sciences scholarship


Paige Petzenhauser of Roland, an Iowa State University student studying elementary education, has received a College of Human Sciences scholarship to support a career-building experience in the spring of 2018. Petzenhauser, who plans to student teach, will receive the Julia Faltinson Anderson Unpaid Internship and Student Teaching Scholarship.


The College of Human Sciences at Iowa State offers scholarships that support students who working without pay as interns or student teachers. To help offset the cost of living for these students, the scholarships are funded through private gifts, including an anonymous gift made to the College of Human Sciences as part of the endowed deanship held by Laura Dunn Jolly, dean and Dean’s Chair.
