Central Iowa’s chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is holding a variety of free meetings in the next month. Following is the schedule:


Thursdays, March 22 and 29, and April 5: The NAMI Connections peer support group is held on Thursdays at the NAMI of Central Iowa Wellness Center, 416 Douglas, Ste. 205, Ames, from 2-3:30 p.m. Come hear from others who are also learning how to live in recovery with a mental illness.


Tuesday, March 20: Assistant County Attorney Tiffany Meredith will explain “HIPPA and Confidentiality” at the NAMI Central Iowa educational program at 7 p.m. in the P.E.O. Room of the Ames Public Library. Come learn about this confusing and often frustrating aspect of mental health care. All are welcome.


Thursday, March 22: NAMI of Central Iowa will hold its monthly support group for family members of individuals living with mental illness at 7:00 p.m. at the NAMI-CI Wellness Center, 416 Douglas, Suite 205.
