LEGION TO HOST BAGS TOURNAMENT

The Story City American Legion will host a bags tournament on Sunday, July 28. Sign up by July 26 at the American Legion. Tournament begins at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per person (two person teams).

SWEET CORN FEED AT LEGION

The Story City American Legion will be hosting sweet corn feeds on Monday evenings. Event will take place from 6-8 p.m. and cost $7. Menu includes hamburgers/hot dogs, sweet corn, cucucumber salad and tomatoes.

RIVERSIDE QUILT AUCTION TO BE HELD

Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp Quilt Auction will be held Saturday, Aug. 3. The day begins with the first Riverside 5k walk/run at 8 a.m. Printable registration available at www.riversidelbc.org. Quilt viewing (10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.); Silent Auction bidding (10 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.), Brief Outdoor Worship (10:30 a.m.), Turkey BBQ (11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Free will offering), Quilt Auction (1 p.m.) Quilts may be viewed online at www.riversidelbc.org. Thrivent Chapters financially supporting the auction include Black Hawk, Hamilton, Story, Two Rivers, Warren.

NATIONAL CAROUSEL DAY

Come and celebrate the carousel’s 100th birthday on Thursday, July 25. Enjoy carousel rides, games ( free inflatables (4 - 7 p.m.), and entertainment by Stan Dahl (6 - 7:30 p.m.). Plus memorabilia displays, volunteer recognition and free birthday cake.

SONS OF NORWAY TO HOST PROGRAM

Dr. Peter Tjernagel Harstad and Mark O. Harstad will present the program "Ole and Martha Come to Story City" at the next Sons of Norway event on Monday, July 29th, at the Community Center. 6:00 p.m. is social time with a catered dinner at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for members and $10 for guests. OUR SUNDAY’S BEST TO BE HELD

The Randall Fine Arts Council will present Our Sunday’s Best on July 28 at 3 p.m. at Elim Church honoring the instrumental and vocal music department of South Hamilton Schools. This year they were one of two Iowa schools honored as having outstanding music education in the schools. Then, come for a chicken and sweet corn supper from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Randall Gym, hosted by the Randall Fire Department.
