STORY CITY TO TEST TORNADO SIRENS
Severe Weather Awarness Week is March 24-28 and as part of the week-long storm weather preparations, Story City will be testing its tornado sirens on Wednesday, March 26. (If severe weather threatens on March 26, the test will be conducted on March 27 at the same time.) The sirens will be activated at approximately 10:15 - 10:30 a.m
TRACK VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The 2014 track season is just around the corner and the Roland-Story Middle School and High School are looking for volunteers to work the concession stand similar to last year’s format. Most of the meets are quite large and may require between 6 to 10 people. If you like to be on a crew for a home meet please call Brad Skaar (733-2702) or Tim Tryon (733-9082) for the high school meets or Darrin Berggren for the middle school meets. EDC TRIVIA NIGHT TO BE HELD APRIL 4
Calling all Super Heroes! Join us Friday, April 4, for our semi-annual EDC Trivia Night! Put together a team of 8, pick a cause and join us for a fun-filled evening of trivia. Costumes are optional! The top three teams will receive half of the evening proceeds donated to their charity of choice. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Story City Community Center with trivia beginning at 7 p.m.. BREAKFAST BENEFIT FOR PILOT MOUND FIRE DEPT
A Breakfast Benefit for the Pilot Mound Fire Department will be held Saturday, March 29, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pilot Mound Community Building. Menu includes sausage gravy, biscuits, juice, coffee and milk. A free will donation will be taken.
R-S STAFF RECOGNITION BANQUET
Roland-Story retirees are invited to attend the annual Staff Recognition Banquet on Saturday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school commons. A short program will follow in the auditorium. R-S MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE
The PTO sponsored Middle School Dances will be held Friday, April 4, and the theme is Glow in the Dark. The 5th/6th grade dance will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. followed by the 7th/8th grade dance from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $4 with a free raffle ticket. Pizza, pop and glow bands will be available for purchase. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative glow contest, game contest and raffle drawings. Volunteers are needed and donations accepted. KARAOKE AT STORY CITY LEGION
Gunshy DJ/Karaoke will entertain on Friday, March 21, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Story City American Legion in Story City. The public is welcome.
