The City of Story City and Midwest Recovery are holding a clean-up day on Saturday, July 27. Appliances will be picked up for FREE. Televisions must have a sticker purchased from the city in order for us to pick it up. If your television does not have a sticker it will not be picked up and it will be the owner’s responsibility to dispose of properly. All appliances and electronics MUST be on the curbside by 7 a.m. We will not be returning for items not placed on the curb before 7 a.m.

Items accepted for free include: water heaters, dishwashers, refrigerators, riding mowers, batteries, VCR’s, cell phones, humidifiers, washers, stoves, air conditioners, walk-behind mowers, general scrap metal, video game systems, printers, exercise equipment, dryers, furnaces, microwaves, backyard grills, computer CPU’s, DVD players, copiers, dehumidifiers.

Items not accepted: Appliances filled with food, tires, plastics or garbages, chemicals or paint, water softeners, propane tanks, wood, carpet.

Price List for Monitors and Televisions: 18" and under ($7); 19" to 25" ($12); 26" to 32" ($17); 33" to 40" ($22); 41" and up ($27); Console TV’s ($27).
