On Saturday, July 20, 2013, the North Iowa Tractor Ride sponsored by radio stations 98.7 Kiss Country, 103.7 Fox and 95.1 The Bull, will be traveling to Roland as part of their Central Iowa tour.

One-hundred fifty tractor riders will be traveling from Ames and stopping in Roland for lunch. Tractors are grouped by speed and the first half of the tractors will be rolling in around 10:40 a.m. with all tractors arriving in town by 1:00 p.m. Main Street will be blocked off so all tractors can be on display.

The public is invited to come, check out the tractors, and meet the riders. Parking will be available on the side streets and on the north end of Main Street. Lunch is also open to the public and is being served by the Roland Area Development Corporation at the Community Center. The meal will cost $6 and include a choice of a brat, pork burger or hamburger, chips, watermelon, drink and homemade pie. Bergan Church will be sponsoring an ice cream cart, selling cones and sundaes, plus bottled water and pop. A decorated wooden chair designed specifically in recognition of this ride will be raffled. Lunch proceeds will go toward support of the Roland Area Community Center.
