Gerald Austin “Jerry” Tokheim, age 87, of Edina, passed away from pancreatic cancer May 12, 2017, at the AVOW Hospice in Naples, Fla. Jerry was born on Nov. 8, 1929, to Sam Tokheim and Clara Sevde. He graduated from high school in Story City and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. He served 4 years in the Navy. He was in the insurance business for over 40 years. Jerry was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd for many years and later joined Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Edina Country Club for over 30 years and was an avid golfer and had many friends. Jerry married Romona Erickson on July 14, 1962, and lived all their married lives in Naples. Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Romona; brother, John, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Marjorie, of Story City; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church or AVOW Hospice in Naples. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S., Mpls. Interment was on Friday, May 26, at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Slater.
