William Dean Henderson, 68, of rural Story City died Dec. 26, 2017, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m. at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.

William Dean Henderson was born on July 24, 1949, in Ames, Iowa, to Curtis and Norma (Ford) Henderson. He married Patricia Jans on May 31, 1970. Will farmed for 20 years then worked at Record Printing as a press operator for 27 years.

He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church and was a lifetime resident of the Randall area. Will enjoyed gardening, watching sporting events, reading, tending to his yard and watching westerns on tv; but he really loved and his family and especially the grandchildren.

Will is survived by his wife, Pat of rural Story City; two sons, Daniel (Michelle) Henderson of Ankeny and Jason (Brenda) Henderson of Story City; a daughter, Lucy (Vishal) Patel of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, Brett, Megan, Moriah, Torran (Natalie) and Calvin; two great-grandchildren, Karsyn and Remi; a brother, Steve (Becky) Henderson of Fairfax, Minn.; a sister, Rosemary (Dale) Kinne of Mankato, Minn., and a sister-in-law, Neva Henderson of rural Story City.

Will was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Harris Hanson, and a brother, Craig Henderson.
