The Story County Community Foundation (SCCF) will award approximately $100,000 in grants to local projects throughout the county that benefit the community or an underserved segment of the population. Projects will be eligible for grants of up to $6,000.
SCCF encourages proposals from tax exempt, nonprofit and charitable organizations, governmental agencies, or others with an identified fiscal sponsor. SCCF will give special consideration to those projects addressing community betterment objectives that are listed on SCCF’s website.
The Allocations Committee of SCCF will look for projects that address community issues, outline a plan to achieve goals, encourage cooperation between organizations, reduce duplication, and provide a plan for sustainability.
Funded largely by the state-wide County Endowment Program, SCCF grants address both long-term and emerging needs. Since 2005, SCCF has awarded grants totaling over $600,000 to local charitable projects according to Suzan Shierholz, founding president and foundation board member.
