On Friday, May 12, Roland-Story’s boys’ golf team competed at 2A Sectionals in Parkersburg at the Lengend Trail Golf Course.
“Playing conditions were great,” said head coach Mike Risdal. “The Norse again had a strong front nine, struggling a little on the back nine.”
The Norse finished fourth with a 324 team score.
Matthew Weaver and Carson Ehrenberg led the team with scores of 80, Tyler Risdal 81, Will Larson 83, Jake Ford 85 and Nick Stole 87.
“Overall it was a great year, the team has played well all year long. Looking forward to next year, we will be returning five varsity players,” Risdal said.
Aplington-Parkersburg won the Sectional with a score of 307, Dike-New Hartford second with a score of 313, and South Hamilton third with a score of 318; all three teams advanced to district play.
