Jake Ford didn’t allow a single run as Roland-Story defeated Southeast Valley 10-0 on Saturday, June 3. Ford allowed just two hits and struck out Sorenson to end the game.


Ford led the Norsemen to victory by driving in four runs. He went 2-for-3 at the plate. Ford drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the second and a walk in the fifth.


Roland-Story took an early lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Ford drove in one run when he singled.


R-S scored four runs in the second inning. The Norsemen’s big inning was driven by a walk, a double by Ford and a single by Derek Staker.


Roland-Story had six hits in the game. Landon Greiner and Ford each collected multiple hits. The Norsemen didn’t commit a single error in the field. Nick Stole had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.


Vs. Woodward Academy


Roland-Story grabbed an early lead on its way to a 16-1 victory over Woodward Academy on Saturday, June 3. The Norsemen scored on a wild pitch, a single by Jakob Pitman and a walk by Derek Staker in the first inning.


Roland-Story captured the lead in the first inning. Nathan Bell’s sac fly scored one run for the team.


The Norsemen scored five runs in the third inning. The team’s big inning was driven by a single by Jakob Pitman, a single by Nick Stole and a single by Matthew Weaver.


The boys collected 10 hits. Stole and Pitman each collected multiple hits, and Jon Sansgaard and Stole each drove in three runs to lead the team.


Vs. Nevada


The Norsemen defeated Nevada 5-3 thanks to a strong start. Roland-Story scored on a single by Jake Ford and a single by Jakob Pitman in the first inning.


The boys captured the lead in the first inning. Jake Ford drove in one when he singled in the first inning.


The team had seven hits. Ford and Jakob Pitman each collected multiple hits. Pitman, Caleb Schlatter and Ford each drove in one run to lead the team. Schlatter led with three stolen bases, as the team ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.


Vs. Clear Lake


Roland-Story took the lead late and defeated Clear Lake 3-2 on Thursday, June 1. The game was tied at two with the Norsemen batting in the bottom of the fifth when Nick Stole singled off of Tofte, driving in one run.


The pitching was strong on both sides. Roland-Story’s pitchers struck out six, while Tofte sat down three.


In the bottom of the first inning, Roland-Story tied things up at two. Jake Ford drove in two when he singled in the first inning.


Roland-Story had 11 hits in the game. Caleb Schlatter, Zach Shadlow and Ford each collected multiple hits, and Ford and Nick Stole each drove in one run to lead the Norsemen.


The doubleheader had the Norsemen and Clear Lake passing the lead back and forth for a second game, but eventually Clear Lake prevailed 7-4. The game was tied at four with Clear Lake batting in the top of the seventh when Lester singled off of Dylan Matheason, driving in two runs.

Vs. Greene County


Roland-Story took the lead for good in the eighth inning to capture a back-and-forth game from Greene County by a 7-4 score on Tuesday, May 30. The game was tied at four with the Norsemen batting in the top of the eighth when Nathan Bell doubled off of Fouch, driving in one run.


Roland-Story took an early lead in the second inning and scored one run when Derek Staker singled with two outs in the second inning.


In the bottom of the seventh inning, Greene County tied things up at four.


Zach Shadlow homered in the eighth inning and Nathan Bell homered in the third inning.


Roland-Story had nine hits in the game. Shadlow and Bell each collected multiple hits. Shadlow led Roland-Story with three hits in four at bats.
