Friday night, July 7, saw the Norsemen travel to Humboldt to play the fourth-ranked Wildcats in game that would go into extra innings.

Humboldt struck first in the inning one, plating two runs on the three hits.

With the score two to 0 going into the third inning, Hailey Louw drew a walk and came around to score on the single from Sydney Mathis.

In the fourth inning, the Wildcats put another run on the board.

Trailing three to one in the fifth inning, Susie Weaver and Talyn Phillips score for the Norse tying the game at 3-3.

The Wildcats putt a run on the score board in the seventh inning. Trailing 4-3 with the season on the line, junior Hailey Louw, hit a home run over the right field fence to tie the game 4-4.

The game moved to extra innings where the fourth-ranked Wildcats wasted little time putting two on the board and applying the pressure to the Norse. Those two runs would prove to be too much and ended the season for the ladies.

The final score was 6-4 Humboldt, who played Southeast Valley Monday night in a 5-0 victory.
