The varsity had a quiet week just facing Saydel on Thursday. However JV was busy with three nights of volleyball and freshman had a quad in Gilbert on Tuesday. All three teams came away with a win at Saydel, with the freshman remaining undefeated so far this season.
“Teams like Saydel can be very difficult to play,” said coach Molly Geise. “They tend to make a lot of errors and play a slower pace than we do. It can be challenging to “play our game”. Our goal was to improve our first ball sideout percentage which we did.
Madison Friest had a great game. She is swinging so well and with confidence. She’s a great leader and example to her teammates. Whitney Erickson came off the bench and lit it up in game 3 with 3 out 4 of her hits as kills. Confidence is key with our team. When we play confident and aggressive we are pretty tough to stop.
Jenna Clark had 22 assists, five digs and one kill against Saydel. MaKayla Geise had nine kills and six digs. Juliann Clark had seven digs, four kills and got 11 of 11 serves. Madison Friest had eight kills and a block. Taryn Johnston had seven digs and was 13 of 13 at the serving line. Hailey Louw and Amy Rathmacher were also 100 percent at serving, with 14 and 11 respectively.
Our record is now 1-0 in conference, 7-2 overall.
