The Aplington-Parkersburg football team proved too much for Roland-Story Friday, topping the Norsemen in a hard fought 28-21 game.

Roland-Story marched into Falcon territory on its last drive of the game, but was stopped on fourth down with less than a minute and a half to play in the game.

Ben Chelsvig had 23 rush attempts and a total of 160 yards for the game. Tyler Risdal had 32 rushing yards, Derek Staker 16, Carter Greenfield 14, Jakob Pittman 11 and Austin Hobbs nine.

Hobbs had a 14-yard reception on a Risdal pass.

Chelsvig and Hobbs each had a rushing touchdown, and Zach Twedt returned a kick 83 yards for a touchdown. Nick Stole had three successful point after touchdown kicks.

On defense, Nathan Bell led the with seven solo tackles and 15 assists, Chelsvig had three solo and nine assists, Garek Hurd had two solo and six assists, Shane Maglio had four solo and six assists, Twedt had five solo and three assists.

Maglio and Matt Hougland each had a fumble recovery.
