The Norsemen boys’ basketball team lost to East Marshall on Nov. 28, 48-63.
East Marshall outscored Roland-Story in the first quarter, 23-9. The Norsemen came back in the second and third quarters and outscored East Marshall, 11-6 and 17-16, but it wasn’t enough to make up that first quarter difference. In the fourth quarter Roland-Story scored 11 and East Marshall 18.
Austin Hobbs was the leading scorer with 11 points. Kade Faga and Dylan Matheason each added nine, Mitch Shorkey got seven, and Ben Chelsvig and Carter Greenfield each had six.
Chelsvig had six rebounds and Shorkey got five.
The Norsemen also had a loss against South Hamilton in Jewell on Dec. 1, with a score of 33-57.
After tight first quarter (8-13), South Hamilton outscored the Norse 23-4 in the second to break things open.
Hobbs was the high scorer with 11 and Jon Sansgaard added six. Several other players rounded out the scoring.
Chelsvig led the defense with six rebounds, Shorkey had five, and Greenfield and Matheason each had four. Sansgaard had three steals. Shorkey and Nic Hansen each had three blocks.
