The Norse girls’ basketball team beat South Hamilton on Dec. 1, 48-39.
In the first quarter, Roland-Story outscored South Hamilton 12-2. But the Hawks came back the second quarter, and the teams went into halftime with the Norse ahead 19-18.
After the half, the Norse added 13 points in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth, compared to South Hamilton’s 11 and 10.
The Clark sisters led the scoring effort, with Juliann shooting 16 points and Jenna 13. Madison Friest added nine and Kylie Tjernagel five. Rounding out the scoring were Madeline Morton with three and Emily Berggren with two.
Morton and Juliann Clark each had seven rebounds, and Friest had five.
Tjernagel and Jenna Clark each got a pair of steals. And Hannah Patton had three blocks.
On Nov. 28, the Norse had a decided win over East Marshall, 78-49.
Jenna Clark and Kaitlyn Kilstofte led the scoring with 16 and 14 points respectively. Friest added 10, Tjernagel nine, MaKayla Geise and Juliann Clark each scored seven. Susie Weaver scored six and Morton scored five.
Friest had nine rebounds, and Geise had seven. Jenna Clark had six steals, Morton and Tjernagel each had four. Friest led in blocks with four.
