Illinois State head women’s basketball coach Barb Smith announced last Friday (Dec. 6) that junior forward Maddie Oliver, a Roland-Story graduate, left the team due to ongoing medical issues, which led to her decision to stop playing basketball. Oliver is on pace to graduate early in May of 2014 and will pursue a graduate degree.
"We want to thank Maddie for her time and effort with the women’s basketball program, and we wish her the best of luck in the future," Smith said.
Oliver played in three games for the Redbirds this season, averaging 3.3 points per game and made 43 percent of her field goal attempts. She also pulled down 2.3 rebounds per game.
