The Roland-Story Agriculture Department recently presented 21 students from the Agriculture Education I class with certificates for successfully completing Unit #2 – Effective Communications – from the Nationally sanctioned CASE (curriculum for agriculture science education) curriculum.
All students demonstrated and met the standards and competencies of the curriculum that is specific to ‘AFNR’ (Agriculture Food and Natural Resources) training.
Students learned, while in this unit of instruction, about extemporaneous speaking, prepared public speaking, FFA creed, parliamentary procedure and developing and presenting a team speech.
According to Brad Taylor, RS Agriculture Instructor, "the curriculum and tasks asked of the students has given each of them the opportunity to show and demonstrate their skills in the area of effective communication". Many in the class participated in the FFA Farm Safety Day presentations and demonstrated how to be an effective communicator."
