Students in both sections of the Roland-Story agriculture shop class built children’s-sized picnic tables as part of their semester evaluation and assessments.

The project placed emphasis on several areas including time management, working in a collaborative setting and appropriate communication skills while designing and constructing a quality product in which they demonstrated skills on measuring and safe use of equipment.

“This was an excellent project to end the semester on,” said Brad Taylor, agriculture instructor. “The students have been learning a lot about various wood shop tools and equipment and are now able to demonstrate those skills on this project as well as demonstrate work-ready skills.”
