Barbara Gayle Zudyk, 69, of Nauvoo, Illinois, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born May 6, 1948, in Chicago, she was the daughter of August and Isabell Sliwa Yos. On Oct. 13, 1972, she married Theodore Victor Zudyk.

Mrs. Zudyk was a registered nurse at South Chicago Community Hospital and at Blessing Hospice. She also worked at St. Mary’s High School in Nauvoo.

She was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, shopping and antiques.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Zudyk of Richardson, Texas, and Anthony Zudyk of Placentia, California; one brother, William Yos of Chicago; and two sisters, Janet Natt of Scherriville, Indiana, and Colleen Yos of St. John, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

The funeral for Mrs. Zudyk will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service. Cremation will be accorded.

A memorial has been established for the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
