JEWELL - The Roland-Story boys’ golf team placed third in a triangular meet with South Hamilton and West Marshall April 16 at Jewell.


The Norsemen shot a 194 over nine holes. South Hamilton won with a 182 and West Marshall carded a 189.


Nick Stole paced Roland-Story individually with a 43. Steven Berends and Ryan Streit each shot a 50 and Isaiah Bates a 51 to complete the scoring.


Joe Hovick and Braydon Flattebo also competed for the Norsemen. Hovick carded a 57 and Flattebo a 65.


Final team scores (nine holes): 1. South Hamilton 182, 2. West Marshall 189, 3. Roland-Story 194.

STORY CITY - Roland-Story claimed victory in a home triangular meet with North Polk and Woodward-Granger April 15 at the River Bend Golf Course in Story City.


Roland-Story scored a 179 to beat North Polk’s 189 for first. Woodward-Granger shot a 208.


Nick Stole was medalist for the Norsemen with a 39. Ryan Streit earned medalist runner-up with a strong round of 43.


Joe Hovick shot a 48 and Ryan Flattebo a 49 as the other golfers to score for Roland-Story. Steven Berends finished with a 51 and Isaiah Bates a 52.


Final team scores (nine holes): 1. Roland-Story 179, 2. North Polk 189, 3. Woodward-Granger 208.

GRUNDY CENTER - Roland-Story tied for second at the Grundy Center Invitational Saturday at the Town and Country Golf Club in Grundy Center.


Roland-Story shot a 191 over nine holes to tie for second out of seven teams. Grundy Center won with a 176.


Nick Stole took fourth individually with a 43 and Ryan Streit eighth with a 47 to lead Roland-Story individually. Ryan Flattebo finished 11th with a 49 and Joe Hovick shot a 52 to finish the scoring.


Isaiah Bates added a 55 and Steven Berends a 57 for the Norse.
