Helping Hands, a volunteer youth organization, is sponsoring its 34th-annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, which will be held in the South Hardin Middle School gym in Hubbard on Saturday, March 21.

There are separate 8-team girls’ and boys’ divisions in grades 2-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and post-high school.

Grades 2-4, 5-6 and 7-8 divisions will start playing on Saturday morning as close as possible to 8 a.m. Grades 9-10 and 11-12 will play at 4 p.m., and the post-high school division will start at 6:30 p.m.

Awards will be given to all four places in both of the Championship and Consolation brackets — trophies, T-shirts, medals or ribbons — depending on the final standing. The cost is $39 for each three-person team.

Profits from the tournament go to community groups and projects, and sometimes to peers with medical issues. More than $115,000 has been dispersed over the years.

If you are interested in playing, your high school or middle school basketball coaches, PE teacher or athletic director should have forms; also Lynn Brinkmeyer, PO Box 22, Hubbard, IA 50122; call 641-864-2742 or 641-751-3645: e-mail helpinghands3on3@yahoo.com or millauto@netins.net.; FB message to Lynn Andrews Brinkmeyer.
