Forty-three Senior Citizens enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Harlan’s Deli. The coordinator was Carolyn Mabee. Servers were Dorothy Appelgate and Ruby Olson. Kermit Molde was MC. He read several humorous articles.

Dean Larson introduced our great speaker Gary Frye from the Iowa Lions Foundation. He spoke about recycling old and used eye glasses at Wolf Clinic in Story City and Wal-Mart in Ames to name a few. Also old and used hearing aids can be recycled. Our country is the largest international country to collect eye glasses. Over 350,000 glasses are collected each year.

A person can also donate eye corneas. The tissue is harvested and transported to the hospital by special carrier. It was a very interesting and informative program.

Charlotte Hill celebrated her birthday by treating all with ice cream. Happy birthday was sung to her. The table prayer was sung by all.
