Roland holiday festivities planned

Plan now to make some special memories with your family and “sing in” the holiday season on Saturday evening, November 30, in Roland. Join the community in caroling with your neighbors and friends at 5:15 p.m. and for the tree lighting ceremony held at the north end of Main St. Then come to the Community Center to warm up and enjoy a soup supper provided by the Roland Area Development Corporation. A variety of homemade soups, crackers and relishes, along with hot dogs for the kids, plus holiday cookies and bars, will be served from 5:30 -7:00 p.m. A free will offering will be taken. The library will be open from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for the children to decorate Christmas cookies and make a holiday craft. And, of course, Santa will also make an appearance!

The RADC will be sponsoring a holiday decorating contest again this year as well, and the judging will be held on the evening of December 15. Homes that are chosen for prizes will be awarded $100 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 each for third and fourth. Winners will be notified the following week. Make your home festive for the Christmas season and bring a smile to all who pass by. No entry form needed, just bring the holiday spirit outdoors and “deck the house out” for Christmas!
