Grace UMC choirs to present Cantata

The Grace Church Chancel Choir and the Touch of Grace Bell Choir are collaborating to bring you the Christmas story in beautiful song during the worship service on Sunday, December 8th. Come listen to the wonderful story of the Christ Child’s arrival through scripture, vocal music from the cantata, Heaven’s Child by Pepper Choplin and two special bell choir selections, “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear” and “Away in the Manger”.

The beloved message of the season is lovingly shared as the choirs will be performing with music and instruments made possible by the generosity of two longtime Grace Church families. The cantata music was purchased with money given in memory of Hubert Doolittle and the bell choir music will feature chimes including the five new deepest chimes given in memory of Diane Clayberg.

Members of the Chancel Choir include: Leota Berg, Christine Semler-Blue, Denise Carlson, Dave Doolittle, Doug Doolittle, Judy Brekke, Dale Henricks, Cathy Hermanson, Candi Holm, Amber Hoskins, Adam Hubert, Ray Hults, Patsy Jensen, Caleb Michel, Denny Michel, Gini Michel, Claudia Pauk, Gene Schaeffer, Cheryl Semler, Kevin Whitmore. Vivian Whitmore, Beckey Witthuhn. The Chancel Choir is directed by Rhonda Hampton. Michelle Cook will serve as narrator.

The Touch of Grace Bell Choir members include : Matt Emerson, Beckey Witthuhn, Gayle Naglak, Lynn Henricks, Becky Senti, Cheryl Semler, Priscilla Johnson, Cathy Hermanson, Katherine Sowers, Judy ver Steegh, Brenda Meier, Paula Sampson, Claudia Pauk, Katie Feil. The Bell choir is directed by Judy Brekke with a special guest appearance by Heather Imhoff on flute.

You’re invited to gather your friends and family to join the choirs in celebrating the blessed reason for the Christmas season, the birth of Jesus. The music will be the worship service message on Sunday, December 8th at 9:15 a.m. at Grace UMC Church at 624 Elm Ave.
