Twenty-five students represented Ellsworth Community College recently at the 2016 National Postsecndary Agricultural Student (PAS) Conference in Kansas City, MO. More than half of the ECC students came home with plaques after placing among the top three nationally in their respective areas of expertise.

“This was the largest group we’ve ever taken to the National PAS Conference, and it was the highest average placing ever for Ellsworth Community College,” says Kevin Butt, ECC Agriculture Professor. “The students did a great job and represented the college very well.”

Among the National award winners was Cole Birchmier of Story City, who participated in the Sheep team competition. His team finished fifth overall. Cole’s teammates were Sara Bergerson of St. Ansgar and Mike Wolthuizen of Sanborn.
